Howdy!
A few weeks ago I was tagged by Jaye L. Knight for the Favorite Screen Characters Tag and now I’m getting around to it. Warning before we get started. I usually try to keep my fangirling on here to a minimum but, well, I’ve basically just been given free license to say/do whatever I want. Please prepare yourselves or just run.
Now, I’m going to cheat a little. I’m supposed to do the top ten favorites but in a few cases I couldn’t decided WHO was my favorite, so several characters count as one. Judge me all you want.
I’m not putting these in any particular order.
Eomer
In my mind, Eomer is one of the most under-appreciated characters in LOTR. I think book Eomer is a little better, but I have pretty much zero fault with movie Eomer. So let’s appreciate him a little more at this time.
Be grateful I restrained myself from finding pictures of his horse. That is one fine looking animal. Yes, I judge a fictional character by his boots, his horse, and then his personality/face. I have high standards. 😛
Toothless – How To Train Your Dragon
Because who couldn’t love this guy? I love these movies probably more than any almost 23 year old should.
Dean Winchester – Supernatural
Yup. Standard glamour shot. But adorable gif to make up for it.
I’ve put in almost 11 seasons with this guy and he just keeps getting better and better. Yes, he usually makes crappy decisions but most of the time it’s to take care of his brother or friends. “Family don’t end with blood”.
Arthur – BBC Merlin
I really like this show and this guy keeps me in stitches the whole time. I’ve always loved the Arthur legend and obviously am a fan of this adaptation. Plus he and Merlin’s friendship is absolutely adorable. Please see below.
Dastan and Tamina – Prince of Persia
This is where I cheat a little. Dastan is awesome and I love love Tamina’s character. She doesn’t take any crap from anyone and Dastan is genuinely adorable and loyal to his family. I love the way their relationship unfolds through the movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it! And don’t listen to anyone who says it’s not very good. They sit on a throne of lies!

The Doctor (and Rose Tyler) – Doctor Who
Sort of cheating again. While the Ninth Doctor will always be my first and is fantastic in his own right, #10 is probably my favorite. And Rose is the best companion, hands down.
Siiiiigh………….. (and after having recently finished Tennant’s time, let me go sob again…)
Oliver Queen – Arrow
This is an awesome show. I basically know nothing about comic books and the Green Arrow in general but I’m a fan of this adaptation. I think Oliver gets favorite status because I’m a big fan of the actor, Stephen Amell. He’s an all around great guy.
Honorable mentions at this time go to Diggle and Felicty Smoak. They make the show even more awesomer (resulting in my grammar fail).
Much – BBC Robin Hood
Much comes in as the most quoted from this show (which is pretty great by the way). He’s so loyal to Robin, takes care of everyone, basically gets no credit for anything, and usually ends up helping to save the day in a big way. And he’s hilarious. What’s not to like?
The Crew – Firefly
Since I love this show dearly, I couldn’t just pick one favorite, so I chose them all. But if you force me to choose, I think Mal and Wash rank slightly above everyone else.
Belle – Beauty and the Beast
Belle is my favorite Disney Princess (followed closely by Mulan and Merida). She can take care of herself, doesn’t fall in love with the first prince she meets, and likes reading. Although I’m still trying to figure out why she went for the West Wing, the one place in the WHOLE mansion that was forbidden, instead of going to the gigantic library first.
She also has Phillippe – always been a little jealous of that fact. 😀

OK! I think that’s 10! (I can actually count sometimes.) I’m sure there’s many that I have missed but they know who they are. And yes, I could probably do this post just with favorite screen horses. 😛

Cool! I have Arthur and the Doctor and Rose on my list. Only my mom made me take out some of my Ten/Rose shipping because she didn’t like it. 😛 But anyway, I love those two so much, and Arthur’s just awesome.

I agree, Arthur is best. It’s kind of weird that I like him better than Merlin, though, since he was such a jerk in the first episode.

Love so many on this list! And, yes, I considered modifying it to be my favorite screen horses too! Just started watching Doctor Who (I know, a little late to the game, but better late than never) and I love Rose Tyler!

I’ve been watching Doctor Who off and on for a few years and just recently sat down and watched a bunch. It’s great. Rose is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um…………….Claire………..be honest. Faramir is so great and the absolute bestest of all the non-main-characters in LOTR. But what I was going to say is , you said you didn’t put these in any particular order…………Whoa.! Stop! Ummm……..then why is Eomer first. You know he’s your favorite. And be sure you will be hearing from my lawyer about that disparaging remark about Faramir. YOU. ARE. IN. BIG. TROUBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I should be editing right now, but I had to read your tag today. I don’t get to read non#BlogBattle related stuff nearly as often as I’d like, so I popped over. We have such similar tastes, it’s scary. You are a younger, smarter, prettier sort of me. 😉 Nice list! Dean’s the only one I’m not familiar with!

Well, I don’t know about that… but that’s awesome that we like all the same characters!! 🙂 Dean is well…..siiigh…. 😛 The show is pretty good, but like Doctor Who in that you can get pretty emotionally invested and punched in the feels when least expecting it. 😉

haha I think it’s likely an accurate description, except you are you and I am me and the two will also be separate even though much the same. 😉 How was that for confusing?! 🙂 I am tempted to watch the show, but not! My plate already feels quite full, but I’m sure I’ll have a Netflix binge day eventually. ha!

Doctor and Rose, Toothless, Belle…! Many of my faves here!! 😀 And once I get to watching the shows I’ve missed I’m sure Dean and Robin Hood charries will be added to my faves. 😀 I need to find time to binge watch these!!!

My sister and I were talking about that Robin Hood show and how great it is. It can get a little cheesy in parts but overall, it’s a pretty great adventure!

Aaaahh you picked such awesome characters! Eomer, YES. As a fan of one of the other underappreciated characters (Faramir) I feel your pain, and I agree — Eomer is AWESOME. He’s one of my favorites. ^_^ And Toothless! And I’m a second-hand fan of Dean through Pinterest. XD Dastan and Tamina, YES! Ten and Rose! I am now suuuuper curious about The Arrow!!! :O All the Firefly crew, YES! Mal’s my favorite. ^_^ I loooved this post! *flailing* ❤

Arrow is pretty great. It has some of the coolest action sequences ever!
