Howdy! It’s #BlogBattle Tuesday hosted by the awesome Rachael Ritchey! Check out the link for the rules and other contestants!
I missed last week and almost didn’t make it this week! But some inspiration prevailed and I apologize for submitting you to my painful attempts at poetry. Every so often I give rhyming a try and since no amount of Oreos was going to help me write a story, this is what I came up with. This week’s word was EYE. Enjoy!
###
There is a place
Where worlds are born
All in my mind’s eye
There is a place
Where heroes rise
And villains fall
And simple men hear a call
All in my mind’s eye
There is a place
Where hope is lost
And love is won
And battles rage for a kingdom
All in my mind’s eye
There is a place
Where swords are forged
And spears are cast
And dragons breathe a fiery blast
All in my mind’s eye
There is a place
Where brothers stand
And sisters fight
And family bonds are tight
All in my mind’s eye
There is a place
Where the world is right
All bathed in light
All in my mind’s eye

I’m really not a fan of this type of poetry but I like this :)! The last verse was beautiful.

Thanks!! I have no idea what style it is or anything, I was just putting words together. 😛 Glad it turned out.

I don’t usually poetry because I’m not quite confident in my poetic abilities. 😛

That was a beautifully fantastical poem where the world can be seen through my mind’s eye. Love it. 🙂

Thanks!! Since I don’t write poetry basically at all, I get nervous to write and share it! Thanks for the encouragement! 🙂

This took me to another world, the world of my mind’s eye. Beautiful! You’re a natural poet, and didn’t even know it. 😉

Very nice!! The poetry is a nice change of pace. Now if only Oreos could help us write stories…*sigh*.

Indeed! Though maybe it’s a good thing they can’t because I wouldn’t be able to move. 😛
