Drowning In Words

Howdy!

Time for a writing update! I feel like I’ve been kind of hit and miss over the last month or so, but as the post title might give you an indication, it’s been kind of crazy.

First things – I’m still studying away for my test that’s now in just two weeks! My day pretty much fluctuates between feeling confident for this test and then giving my stressed self inspirational pep talks. Let’s just say I’ll be glad when the test is over. 🙂

Besides studying, I feel like I’ve been doing ALL of the editing! I wrote a grand total of 5914 words in June. (That’s not counting anything that I added during revisions). I’ve finished my final revisions for The Wildcat of Braeton and am just waiting for some notes back from readers. Last night I finished the *fingers crossed* final readthrough of The Rise of Aredor! Now all that’s left for RoA is to finish some final touches and then get it sent off to the formatter! Then repeat the process with WoB…

Right now it’s looking like everything should be a go for a release date towards the end of August!

Also, I’ve begun the process to set up my own imprint to indie publish the Aredor and Faeries series under! I just got the logo finished and I’m super excited about it! Can’t wait to share with y’all. I haven’t decided if I’ll continue to publish under it in the future or look at more traditional publishing, but it’s something I’ll have set up if indie is the way I want to keep going. 🙂

The Wolf Prince is finished and is currently somewhere in draft 3-4. I’m prepping to send it off to betas this weekend. If you’d like to be one of those lucky people, sign ups are open until tomorrow! 🙂

I’ve started in on my Snow White re-telling for the Rooglewood contest and have gotten about 3K. So far so good. It’s turning into a light fantasy/steampunk/western. 🙂

So I realized the other day that with the Aredor project reaching completion, and The Wolf Prince heading out to betas, that I can start actually working on a WIP again. lol! So The Mountain Baron is back up. I’ll be sporadically working on it through July. I’ve got a test, Realm Makers (!!), and a move to plan over the next month, so I won’t have much writing time. But I’m super excited to get back to my angsty darlings. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, I’m participating in #WIPjoy this month and featuring The Mountain Baron, so you can get some fun snippets and look at the book!

So how’s YOUR July coming? Are you doing Camp NaNo? I really wish I could, but not quite feasible this month :(.

Also, I’m kind of experimenting with a standard post header? What do you think?

  1. I like the new look of your blog. I haven’t been here in a while, so maybe it’s not that new?!

I’m doing CampNaNo. I am finally going to finish the second draft of Elondria. A long-term project that I sometimes feel like giving up on.

Good luck with your test! i’m sure you’ll do fine. 🙂

  3. Good luck with the test! I know you’ll do good!
Hope the move goes smoothly. Are you moving in with your sister?
I’ve been taking a break from my WIP, and hopefully my mind will be refreshed by the time I go back to revising it. I’m practically rewriting it, lol.

    • Thank you! I think the test went well. I still have a few more days before I get the results though… 🙂

No. I have my own place, but I’m not very far from my sister and brother who live in the area. So that’s nice. 🙂

      Ugh, rewrites. Good luck!!!
