Back In Town

Well, it’s that time again.

Rejoice, for I have finished my first summer session and therefore gross anatomy. That means no more cheesy anatomy related posts (or talk of cadavers). Finals finished up last Friday and I’ve been so busy trying to figure out what to do with free time that I have not posted. So, with a lack of science to wax lyrical about, I now turn back to the one of the reasons for this blog in the first place; writing.

For the past few days I’ve been swimming in the pool of creativity and dancing beneath the falls of productivity. They’re quite wonderful places to visit in the Green Fields of the Mind. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to visit. I started on another story and have worked on two other existing stories. I know, I have problems with something called prioritizing. But it’s nice. If I get stuck on one story, I have several others to fall back on.

The main one I’ve been working one for the past 24 hours is my more science-fictiony one- Worldjumpers. I’m now into the meat of the story and I put down my pen for a few minutes in order to write this post. Since I’m hand-writing this one, I can’t really do word counts or page numbers so, “Chapter 10” is waiting to be written.

My “MacDuffy” story, which I teased a few posts ago, is coming along nicely. Now, I don’t really do word counts anyway, but for those of you who do (and who might care), it’s hit 18K. Chapter 10 seems to be a theme.

I’ve written two daring escapes for two different stories in the past day or so. Apparently I don’t believe in boring stories.

My other project is in the very beginning stages. It involves a prince, a curse, a sorcerer, and a quest. It’s set in the same world as another finished story of mine that is currently chilling under the imaginative title “A Faery Tale”. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it here before, but several of its characters will be appearing in this new project. Remind me to give them an honorable mention next time I give a writing update.

I’ve been considering putting up some snippets of the above stories. Let me know if this holds interest. If you’re interested in reading something of mine that’s not so heavy on the ranting side, check out my published book The Rise of Aredor. It’s garnered several good reviews so far and I’m always looking for more reviews. If you want to spread the word about it, I wouldn’t be offended. I’ve got a sequel waiting its chance.

Until next time.

  1. Wow, 18k on “MacDuffy”! Cool! Daring escapes rule. πŸ™‚

By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask, is the anatomy course you were taking really called “gross anatomy,” or is the “gross” part added by you? If I were taking a course like that, I’d probably call it that too on my own volition. πŸ˜€
