Howdy!

So, it’s not my usual day to post at all, but exciting things have happened over the past week so I wanted to share.

First off – I have officially finished my classroom work for my Physical Therapy degree!!!!!!! In two weeks I start the final phase which consists of about 8 months of clinicals before graduation next May! That’s the main reason for the post title (also Firefly). I don’t know that it’s officially sunk in that I won’t be reporting for another grueling semester of class in a few weeks, but instead heading into the clinic for practical application of everything I’ve learned over the last 2 years. But I’m still kind of cloud 9. 🙂

There were a lot of ups and downs over the last two years but it’s been completely worth it. So you’ll probably be seeing a post like this next May after graduation and then later next summer after taking (and hopefully passing) the national licensure exam.

The biggest bonus for y’all is you don’t have to hear me complain about school anymore. And downside for me is that I no longer have school as an excuse when I miss posts or get behind on deadlines. 😛

Secondly – I’m on a committee that’s putting together a writer’s workshop in September. I helped convince the Crosshair Press ladies to come down and give a few talks. (I also interviewed two of them in July for one of their books.) So when I registered for the conference the other day, I signed up to pitch a manuscript to them! I’m excited and terrified at the same time. This also means that I have to finish writing something. lol!! I have two books I’m considering but both are about half way done. But yay, I have time now and should be able to spend more time writing.

And the last thing that’s pretty exciting is that yesterday was my birthday! I’m 24. I actually kind of feel older this year. Maybe it’s the stress slowly leaving my body. 😉 But it was great. I pretty much spent the day going to church and then reading. My sister remarked that it was weird to see me sitting down with an actual book. It felt weird too. 😛

Also, next week I will be taking an internet break. If all works out, my sister and I are heading to Arkansas for some camping and hiking!!!
