About

Hey! Here’s a page about me.

I love to write books! Especially fantasy adventure. I thank a childhood of devouring any fantasy story I could get my hands on for that.

If you’re looking for fantasy adventure stories that span multiple sub-genres with high action, perilous but comforting worlds, good hearted men and fierce hearted women who cling to hope, loyal idiots, found- or mended-family, subplot romance (kissing only) and more focus on platonic bonds/brotherhood, then you’ve come to the right place!

I’ve found myself in the pages of all my books, in good and bad ways. My early books were more about finding identity and purpose. But for years now, my books have swung firmly toward finding hope in broken situations, being kind, overcoming darkness, and bringing healing and faith to those who need it.

Check out the YA or New Adult pages for a list of all the books I’ve sent out into the world and the new ones coming your way!

When not writing my heart and soul into books, I moonlight as a pediatric Physical Therapist with a lot of laughter and off-key singing, and perhaps a deserved reputation as being “Ms. Claire Mean Funny Banschbach.”

Other fun facts about me:

  • I’m a Catholic and I’m constantly in awe of the richness and depth of the Church.
  • I have seven siblings! (I’m #4 and don’t suffer from middle child syndrome.)
  • I’m originally from the deserts of west Texas and the Drifter Duology features that wild and lonely landscape.
  • I’m an introvert but enjoy talking with new people!
  • Redwall, LOTR, and Narnia are the reason I love writing fantasy and adventure.
  • Let’s not talk about how much pizza I can eat.
  • How To Train Your Dragon and Gladiator are some of my favorite movies. Also Prince of Persia and Rogue One.
  • Star Wars (except the new trilogy) is one of my top fandoms. The Bad Batch, and SW: Rebels are favorites. (my cat is named Omega)
  • I still have a serious crush on Eomer son of Eomund.
  • Space freaks me out but I’d definitely fly an X-Wing given the chance.
  • I’d like to think I’d last at least a week in the Zombie Apocalypse.

I’d love to hear from you! Finding me over on social media is probably the fastest way to say hi. I typically hang out over on Facebook  and Instagram! Or sign up for my newsletter to get an email from me in your inbox (link above!).

You can also shoot me an email at claire@clairembanschbach.com. I promise I’ll have my team of highly skilled Night Furies on the lookout for it to let me know when it arrives. If they don’t incinerate it first…

  2. Hello,
Your book is now my favorite. It is the first book that I have read 6 times in two months. It took from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm to finish your fabulous adventure. So I naturally signed up for the emails to your blog. Thank you for recommending Rise of Aredor to me!

    Thanks,
    Cenor 😀

  3. You read Redwall too! I love that series, along with the obvious Lord of the Rings and Narnia. But not many people I come across know how great Redwall is. Have you read Brian Jacques other series Castaways of the Flying Dutchman? Funny title, I know 🙂 but it’s a good read.

      • I felt the same about the last book. Much too sad and lacking followup. But the others are my fav 🙂 Haha, sweet! My bookshelves are bursting with Redwall books! There are so many, I love it.

  4. I’m glad I stumbled across your blog, Claire! I also went to Texas Tech, and graduated from there in 2011 with my bachelors in psychology! My next step: reading chapter 1 of your book, The Rise of Aredor!
