“Twas the day before Christmas…”
And I might be a little bored. This is the longest day of the year. It doesn’t matter how old I get, it will always last forever. So, here’s a random blog post to kill time.
I survived my semester though the going looked rough during finals week. No rest for the wicked as I’ve already registered for next semester and cried a little bit on the inside. The Monday after finals ended, I got my wisdom teeth removed. I really didn’t want to as I was very attached to them. The worst was finding out that no alcohol could be consumed for at least a week after. I really should have gotten that notice at my first appointment and I might have more carefully scheduled the extraction. I went down to the Motherland (College Station, TX) two days later for my best friend’s graduation. (Ha, I sound like an alcoholic, but I promise you I’m not.)
I saw the Hobbit movie and was frankly disappointed. It was a nightmare of cinematography. I’m not a big fan of any of the Hobbit trilogy and I’m disappointed in Peter Jackson who gave us the wonderful LOTR trilogy. Seriously. How can movies made 14 years ago have better CGI than a movie released in 2014? Anyway, please don’t get offended if you liked them. I could go on and on about what I didn’t like but then I’d scare people away with my actual nerdiness.
What am I doing with my time now? I’ve reunited with the gym just in time for the holidays. I’ve been doing a little bit of writing. I’ve got about three stories going right now and then I decided to rework a finished story. The funny thing about this story, The Sword of Kirraine, which you can see a blurb for here, is that everyone who’s read it so far thinks it’s one of my best works. But I think it’s really lame. So I have undertaken the task to make it less lame in my opinion and hopefully not ruin it for anyone else.
I’m waiting (im)patiently for my publisher to get with the edits on the Wildcat of Braeton. Once you get over the editing hump it’s all downhill from there to the best parts of seeing your book come together in formatting and production. So hopefully I’ll be giving a publishing update soon!
I hope everyone has the merriest of Christmases and a happy and healthy new year! So plug in some Christmas music, sit down with your family and give thanks for a wonderful life! Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas Claire! π

I thought SOK was great! It needed the same careful work all manuscripts do, but otherwise: π
Why did you think it was lame?

I just think it’s missing something but I don’t know what yet… I needed to redo some parts anyway to make it flow a little better. But I might send it along to y’all when I’m done to look over it again if that ok? π

Sure. It was good the first time… it ought to be the second time, too. π
