The Wolf Prince
Prince Killian had always known he was cursed. He would hear wolves howling and he knew they were calling to him. He thought if he just listened a little harder, he would know what they were saying. Sometimes he would hear them when no one else could. When he asked his father about it, the mighty King seemed to grow grey and weary. He told Killian of a woman that had cursed their family many generations before. The woman had sought shelter from a raging winter storm, but the old King had refused because he had heard tales that she practiced black magic. The wolves were lean and hungry that year and as the witch heard them howling in the forests she cursed the King’s line. Wolf’s blood would run through their line and it would never rest until the day they would repay the debt owed to her.
“So it was really the King’s fault,” Killian had said in childish innocence. “He turned the witch away.”
His father had sighed. “Maybe, Killian. He was afraid of her magic. The Dark ways are not to be tampered with.”
“Do you hear the wolves, Father?” he asked.
“No, but my brother heard them and he became sick and died,” the king replied.
“Does Lars hear them?” Killian asked of his older brother.
“I don’t know. I hope he does not.”
“Why?”
“Because whoever hears the wolves might have to meet the witch again one day.”
Rough Synopsis
When a sorcerer takes advantage of a centuries old curse on the royal family of Calvyrn, Prince Killian is turned into a wolf. The faeries of Calvyrn have no answer and send Killian and his brother to their kin in Myrnius. Along the way, the brothers team up with Rose, a young huntress looking for her father who might also have fallen victim to the sorcerer’s nefarious schemes…
Progress?
I’m about halfway done writing it. Everything got stalled once the semester started, but Spring Break is next week so hopefully I’ll be able to get some written between studying for tests and writing papers. For those curious how it fits into the series with Adela’s Curse, when Killian and Lars go to Myrnius, they meet up with Adela and Damian. 🙂

I haven’t read to many books about faeries, but this one looks intriguing. To Clair, I hope you are safe from the bad weather in Texas. I also am a Catholic. I have a sister-in-law who is a cloistered nun. My husband was almost a priest. His family calls him “Father what a waste”.

I think I’m far enough west to be out of the bad weather. It’s just a little rainy here in my corner of Texas. Thanks!!
Whoop for being Catholic! 🙂 That’s hilarious about your husband.

I don’t understand fairies, but of course I also don’t understand a lot of things. This sounds captivating though. How do you manage everything on your plate at once? More power to you, Claire. ❤ 😀

Honestly, I probably shouldn’t try to do so much at once. But hey? What’s life without a little stress? 😀 Thanks, Tess.
