Interview with Sean MacDuffy

Hello!

Welcome back to the blog tour celebrating the release for Blood of the Seer! Book 2 in The Dragon Keep Chronicles has been out for a week and I’m so excited that my drama boys and their story is finally out and about for people to read! (Not sure what books I’m talking about? Check the bottom of the post, or my Books page to learn more!)

We are back today with another character interview! This time, I have Sean MacDuffy, AKA the more cooperative brother, coming to join me at this nice little lake house. I have cinnamon rolls and coffee today to help bribe, I mean snack.

Sean comes in from the more open side of the lake, across a lovely little field. He takes a seat in the rocking chair where he still has a good view of the lake.

CMB: Hello and welcome!

Sean MacDuffy: Thank you. How are you?

CMB: Much more confident in this interview, thanks for asking.

SM: *laughs* Rhys was scowling a bit more than usual after his. Which tells me it’s not that bad.

CMB: *fills up plate with bribery cinnamon rolls and hands it over* Right?! Okay, let’s get started. Jenavive Rose asks: Has anyone challenged you for champion eye-roller?

SM: Alan certainly tries some days and it’s usually when Rhys is around.

CMB: Not surprising at all. paper_trail_adventures asks: What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever done?

SM: Can I not answer this question?

CMB: Hmmm….I feel like I should make you. thebookishpen asks: When will you learn to play the harp?

SM: *rolls eyes* Never. I hate harps. And I’m pretty terrible at anything musical. You know actually Rhys does not have a terrible singing voice.

CMB: *jots notes* interesting, interesting…jojobooklover has a couple questions: what is one word you’d use to describe your brother?

SM: *slumps in chair* Stubborn. So stubborn.

CMB: Preach. Favorite childhood memory?

SM: My eighth birthday, when Rhys and Alan dragged me out with them to the river and we built a fort along the banks. It was an all day affair, and Rhys might have fallen in the river and then started a water fight.

CMB: Any embarrassing stories about Rhys?

SM: Like the time he and Alan got into Father’s ale stores?

CMB: Exactly like that.

SM: He’d kill me if I told the entire thing. I’m sure Alan has many more than I do.

CMB: Can confirm! 😉 Becky Gaines asks: Do you like to annoy Rhys/favorite way to annoy him?

SM: I am a younger brother. It is sibling law that I annoy him whenever I can.

CMB: As a middle child, this is true.

SM: Favorite way to annoy him? *leans back in the chair* Honestly being able to beat him at knife throwing. Any time I know something he doesn’t. There’s a fairly good list.

CMB: You are an excellent younger brother.

SM: *smirks* thank you.

CMB: Katie Phillips asks: What’s the most annoying thing about your brother?

SM: These people have siblings, don’t they?

CMB: *laughs* Or they just know your brother.

SM: True. The most annoying thing is how stubborn he gets because he’d let a mountain run over him before he changes.

CMB: And would probably give the mountain a headache.

SM: You are not wrong.

CMB: That’s all the questions I have today. Thank you for being cooperative, Sean.

SM: You’re welcome.

CMB: Take cinnamon rolls back for the children! And tell them I said hi! And tell Alan he better be on time next week!

He waves as he leaves. I, however, wave at the forest because if Rhys is not there making sure nothing happens to Sean, he left a Cairn. Maybe I should invite them up for leftover cinnamon rolls….

😀 And I do have Alan MacDuffy up for interview next week! If you have any questions for him, drop them in the comments below!

A blood curse. A shadow world. An indomitable evil. A forgotten bond.

Banished for a crime he didn’t commit, Rhys MacDuffy risked his life to rescue the little brother he no longer could claim as his own. Sean, the Seer of Clan MacDuffy, returns from his ordeal to war between the Clans and Lord Adam Barkley. Moreover, the Clan Lords refuse to lift the exile on Rhys. No outcast has ever been forgiven.

But the druids who held Sean captive have taken the key to controlling his powers—his blood. Rhys determines to keep his brother safe no matter the cost. Heedless of the war, he leads his rowdy band of Mountain Brigands on a hunt to destroy the druids before they destroy Sean with their dark magic.

The druids force Sean into a shadow world full of demons and danger, where their menacing god Deronis can consume him. Yet Rhys is able to follow Sean into the other world. There they discover an older magic that might be the key to stopping the druids.

The bond of brotherhood between Rhys and Sean runs deep. But is it strong enough to stand against the druid’s blood god?

  1. “It is sibling law”. Ohmyword, I died when I read this! As the oldest sibling, I can attest my sister subscribes wholeheartedly to this universal law. Anywhere, anytime, and in front of anyone. It doesn’t matter, and the more embarrassing, the better (in her opinion only).
